Childhood and Adolescent Hygiene

The Department of Childhood and Adolescent Hygiene was organized in 1981 at the Minsk State Medical Institute and was headed by Professor Lebedeva Nina Timofeevna.

Today the department is headed by PhD, associate professor Borisova Tatyana Stanislavovna.

The tasks of the Department:

  • planning, organization and implementation of educational, methodological, ideological work, current and final control of students' education according to the curricula;
  • developing the students’ academic competences, based on the ability to self-search educational and information resources, as well as acquire and understand the knowledge of preservation and promotion of health;
  • training of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical specialists, improvement of their qualifications;
  • planning and carrying out of research work, implementation of the research results as recommendations for practitioners
  • ensuring sustainable development of the department.

The following disciplines are taught at the Department of Childhood and Adolescent Hygiene:

  • Childhood and Adolescent Hygiene for the specialty 1-79 01 03 «Preventive medicine»;
  • Childhood and Adolescent Hygienе for the specialty 1-79 01 02 «Pediatrics»;
  • Valeology for the specialty 1-79 01 03 «Preventive medicine»;
  • Medical and hygienic support of Сhildren and Аdolescents of organized groups for the specialty 1-79 01 02 «Pediatrics»
  • Laboratory research in the Childhood and Adolescent Hygiene for the specialty 1-79 01 03 «Preventive medicine».

The Department of Childhood and Adolescent Hygiene conducts training of students enrolled in the specialties: “Pediatrics”, “Preventive Medicine”. It is a graduate department for doctors specializing in preventive medicine.
