Term of study at the faculty of Military Medicine – 6 years.

The faculty of Military Medicine of the Belarusian State Medical University was established in 1995 at the order of the Defense Minister and Minister of health in coordination with the Minister of Education.

There is no analogue organization at any CIS country. The Faculty is a component of the uniform curriculum of the Belarusian State Medical University. At the same time it is an autonomous administrative unit with its own administration subordinated to the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Belarus.

The faculty of Military Medicine includes four departments: the Department of Organization of Medical Protection and Catastrophe Medicine (OMP&CM), Military Epidemiology and Military Hygiene (ME&MH), Military Field Therapy (MFT) and Military Field Surgery (MFS).

At the department of OMP&CM the students study the bases of further education: organization and provision of medical protection of military divisions and subdivisions at war-time and in every-day activity; deployment and functioning of military medical divisions and subdivisions at war time and during catastrophes; supply of military divisions and subdivisions with medical equipment and techniques. In the process of studies the students acquire knowledge, abilities and practical skills for taking decisions to organize medical supply of military divisions under different conditions, to plan and control the activity of medical service divisions.

The first graduates of the faculty of Military Medicine were released in 1998, and since then over 400 military doctors got their diplomas.

The character of academic activities at the faculty of Military Medicine is very diverse. During the period of studies the teaching process allows the students to learn in practice the specificity of all stages of the medical scale of ranks – from a gunner-medical orderly, sanitary instructor to the head of the division medical service.

From the very beginning the students of the faculty make brave, decisive steps on the way to science: they are encouraged to participate in the activity of military scientific circles, in various projects developed by the departments.
