Form: full-time, on a fee basis.

Duration: determined individually on the basis of an application from a foreign citizen or at the request of official bodies of foreign states in health care. The duration of training in clinical residency in all specialties is from 2 years to 5 years.

Acceptance of documents: can be carried out throughout calendar year.

Foreign citizens who have arrived to undergo training in clinical residency are required to register with the registration authority at the place of actual temporary stay within ten days, unless otherwise determined by the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated 04.01.2010 No. 105-3 “On the legal status of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Republic of Belarus", other legislative acts and international treaties of the Republic of Belarus.

The prerequisite for admission to clinical residency is knowledge of the Russian language.

Foreign citizens who do not speak Russian sufficiently are enrolled to the Faculty of Career Guidance and Pre-University Training of the university on a fee basis to study language or improve language training.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons temporarily staying or temporarily residing in the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as foreign citizens) are trained in residency on a fee basis.

Training in clinical residency of foreign citizens and stateless persons permanently residing in the Republic of Belarus, foreign citizens and stateless persons who have been granted refugee status or asylum in the Republic of Belarus is carried out of the funds of the republican and (or) local budgets.

Admission to the clinical residency of the University is carried out in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated 18.06.1993 № 2435-XII (ed. dated 25.10.2023) “On Healthcare”, Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated 01.02.2024 № 77 “On professional training in clinical residency”, Decree of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus dated 01.02.2024 № 23 “On clinical bases and specialties of clinical residency”.

Admission to the training of foreign citizens is carried out on the basis of contracts, concluded by the university with foreign citizens. The duration of training in clinical residency of foreign citizens can be determined individually on the basis of an application from a foreign citizen or at the request of official bodies of foreign states in health care.

Foreign citizens with medical education equivalent to higher medical education in the territory of the Republic of Belarus are admitted to clinical residency without presenting requirements for internship and work experience in the profile of their chosen specialty.

Documents for admission to clinical residency

On arrival in the Republic of Belarus, foreign citizens apply to the Center for professional training in internship and clinical residency and provide the following documents:

  • standard application form;

  • copy of the diploma of higher medical education and a supplement to the diploma in the form of an extract from the test sheet (Credit and Exam Grade Record Sheet); *
  • copy of your passport or other document of identification; *
  • statement of good health in the form established by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus;
  • copy of the document, confirming the right of residence in the territory of the Republic of Belarus;
  • copy of the visa and the compulsory medical insurance contract.;
  • 2 photos of 3 x 4 cm in size.
  • copy of the certificate of recognition of educational documents and establishment of its equivalence (compliance) with the document on education of the Republic of Belarus, issued by the state educational institution “Republican Institute of Higher School” (Minsk, Moskovskaya str., 15) (for persons, who have received higher medical education outside the Republic of Belarus); **

*Documents drawn up in a foreign language must be accompanied by a translation into Belarusian or Russian language, certified by a notary or another official authorized to perform a notarial act. Documents, issued by the competent authorities of foreign states, except for documents, certifying the personality of a citizen, are accepted if they are legalized or apostilled, unless otherwise provided for by international treaties of the Republic of Belarus.

Foreign citizens are interviewed to establish their level of proficiency in the Russian (Belarusian) language.

Admission to clinical residency

Admission of foreign citizens to clinical residency is carried out by Order of the Rector of the university after the conclusion of the training contract.

Clinical residents, who have not arrived at the Department without a valid reason within fifteen days from the start of training are subject to expulsion from the clinical residency.

Upon completion of training in clinical residency, a certificate of completion of training in the specialty of clinical residency is issued in the form established by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
